Conference on efficient delivery and savings in the street lighting projects, Opatija, 2.7.2013.

Agency for PPP is organizing the Conference on efficient delivery and savings in the street lighting projects which will be held on Tuesday July 2nd 2013 in Opatija, in Grand Hotel 4 opatijska cvijeta.

The street lightning is under the local community’s responsibility. In comparison with the new technology, the general characteristic of the existing conventional technology is non-efficiency. Investment in street lighting projects meeting the energy efficiency requirements are in line with the European Energy Policy as defined in the EU’s growth strategy Europe 2020 setting up the targets greenhouse gas emissions 20% (or even 30%, if the conditions are right) lower than 1990, 20% of energy from renewable and 20% increase in energy efficiency). Besides these goals defined by European Commission, the wider objective is to decrease the maintenance coast and environment protection connected with the lightning caused polution.

The Conference will provide answers to the following questions:

• How to organize investment in street lighting without burdening the budget?
• Which acts should be aligned so the long-term lease model could be applied?
• How to take advantage of long-term lease in the smaller towns and municipalities?
• How to accomplish benefit for taxpayers by transferring risk to the private partner?
• What documentation is required for the application by the long-term lease model?
• What procedures apply for large, and what for small projects?
