Swiss investors interested in investments opportunities of the Republic of Croatia

Agency for Investment and Competitiveness together with Croatian Embassy organized a working visit to Switzerland in order to meet and held several individual meetings with potential Swiss investors, investment funds and banks, which have expressed interest in investing in Croatia. Visit was organized from November 11 – 12 2013 in Zurich and Bern.

Additionally, during official visit, Mr. Novinić, Managing Director of the Agency for Investments and Competitiveness met with representatives of the influential business community of Croatian Diaspora in Switzerland who are also interested in investing in Croatia. With the aim of exchanging experiences on the field of investment promotion, Mr. Novinić met with Mr. Ernst Landolt, member of the government of the Canton Schaffhausen, and with Mr. Thomas Holenstein, a counselor of Cantonal Government for investments.

Swiss investors are not traditionally considering Croatia as investment destination. That is confirmed by the fact that, according to the Croatian National Bank Swiss investors invested € 454.3 million in the period of the 1993 – 2Q 2013, and they are 12th foreign investors in the Republic of Croatia.

Mr. Damir Novinić presented new initiatives and activities of the Croatian Government in attracting foreign investments and put special emphasize on the Law on Investment Promotion and enhancement of investment environment and on the new Law on Strategic Investment projects of the Republic of Croatia.
