The Innovation Fund is the EU fund for climate policy, with a focus on energy and industry. It aims to bring to the market solutions to decarbonise European industry and support its transition to climate neutrality while fostering its competitiveness.<\/p>\n

The Innovation Fund\u2019s goals are to:<\/p>\n

-help businesses invest in clean energy and industry
\n-boost economic growth
\n-create future-proof jobs
\n-reinforce European technological leadership on a global scale.<\/p>\n

This is done by funding innovative projects focusing on:<\/p>\n

-innovative low-carbon technologies and processes in energy-intensive industries, including products that can substitute carbon-intensive ones
\n-carbon capture and utilisation \u2013 CCU
\n-construction and operation of carbon capture and storage (CCS) facilities
\n-innovative renewable energy generation
\n-energy storage
\n-net zero mobility (maritime, aviation, road transport) and buildings<\/p>\n

Application process<\/h5>\n

There will be regular calls for project proposals throughout the duration of the Innovation Fund (between 2020 and 2030).<\/p>\n

Project promoters can apply via the EU Funding and Tenders portal<\/a> by submitting their proposals when there is an open call for projects.<\/p>\n
