A common feature of antioxidants is the ability to significantly prevent the oxidation of other substances or inhibit cell damage caused by the influence of physiological oxidants, showing a positive reduction potential. Antioxidants are substances that: • protect cells from the oxidizing action of free radicals, • reduce lipid peroxidation (damage to the fat membrane of cells), • prevent DNA damage, • prevent protein modification Quantocian contains polyphenolic compounds, particularly procyanidins and anthocyanins, which possess some of the strongest free radical scavenging properties and are potent inhibitors of pro-oxidant enzymes. |
